Craft Room Disaster and ProMarkers Challenge

Craft Room Disaster! Look away if you are of a nervous disposition - you have been warned!
We woke up at half past two in the morning a few days ago to the sound of something smashing. Of course we leapt out of bed to investigate (ok, it took me a few minutes to haul me and bump out of the bed and another few minutes for Tim to come round...). I thought the sink had fallen off the bathroom wall (?) but of course Tim was more concerned that someone had put a brick through a window or (even worse!) through his car window. But no, it was one of my shelves loaded with crafty bits, finally giving up the ghost and making a bid for freedom from the wall!

Hmmm, perhaps putting those brads in little glasses with no lids wasn't the best idea I've had. We've tried putting the shelf back up today but the wall appears to be made of something resembling sand in that particular area and all we've succeeded in doing is making a bigger hole in the wall. Ah well, back to the drawing board!

But, I've managed to clear my desk so I could spend a bit of time crafting tonight. The following card is for the Passion for ProMarkers blog challenge. This week it was to use the colours Lemon and Meadow Green.
The light wasn't very good by the time I'd finished it so I've scanned the card as well as taking some pics of it...

Supplies used: Image - HG Sing from The Greeting Farm, coloured with ProMarkers and glittered with Lime Green Stickles, Pink Paper from Craftwork Cards, other papers from Pink Petticoat, DoCrafts/Anitas adhesive ribbon, Woodware ribbon brad, Aloha - Doodlebug Simply Sweet Limeade Mini Rub-ons.

No work for a whole year!

Hurrah! It was my last day in work on Friday before my maternity leave started. It was a little bit strange, as I've never been away from work for more than a few weeks but I'm sure once the baby arrives I won't be giving work a second thought! We got some Mothercare vouchers from all my workmates - they were all very generous and we had a lovely night out to celebrate my last day!

The baby seems to be particularly active at the moment and I'm constantly marvelling at the limbs that keep sticking out of the side of my tummy!

Anyway, two cards to show you today. My card making mojo seems to have temporarily left the building and I haven't been that happy with the last few cards I've made but I was happy enough with these two to take pictures of them!

Firstly a card for our friends' engagement. He proposed on holiday in Spain and they're so excited that the venue is already booked for next year!

Supplies used: Image - Anya & Ian digital stamp from the Greetings Farm, coloured with Promarkers and accented with Black Diamond Stickles and Glossy Accents, Papers - Summertime Designs Energy kit, Ribbon - free with a magazine (can't remember which one but have had it for ages!), Papermania adhesive stones, Prima flowers, Lettering - Doodlebug Candy Shoppe Ladybug mini rub-ons.

Second, a card for my Grandad's birthday. I really struggle with men's cards as I like to finish off my cards with a few flowers, glitter and crystals - not always so good for a man's card!

Supplies used: Papers - Summertime Designs Energy kit, Image - Inkadinkadoo Rubber Stamp, Tim Holtz Distress Ink Pads - Black Soot, Dusty Concord, Faded Jeans, Broken China & Antique Linen, Ribbon - Inspirations, Brads - Making Memories Metallic Basics Mini Circle, Crystals (couldn't resist!).

Enjoy the rest of the weekend!

A bit later than advertised...

Oh dear, ok, when I said I'd post about my Summer DT entries tomorrow I was obviously being optimistic! We had a bit of a scare with the computer when it suddenly "lost" the drive containing all our photos, my digital scrapbook papers, Pink Petticoat downloads etc. Luckily Tim sorted it, but I've learnt my lesson the hard way and have copied everything onto the laptop so we have backups!

So here they are...

First off, Geisha Anya. She was coloured using my new Promarkers (they're brilliant!) and glittered with some Stickles. The origami papers are from a pack that I bought at Epcot in DisneyWorld about six years ago, so I've finally found a use for them! The border stickers were from a Create and Craft kit from about a year ago, the coins are from Woodware and the "Inspire" chipboard sticker is DCWV.

Next is Dorothy Anya. The papers are from the Summertime Designs blog and are from the Energy kit. Dorothy has been coloured with Promarkers and glittered with Stickles. I also highlighted her shoes and eyes with Glossy Accents. The ribbon is a Docrafts adhesive ribbon and is passed through a Woodware ribbon brad (a bit fiddly with the sticky ribbon, but I managed it after a few expletives!).

Finally, we have Alice Anya. She was coloured with Promarkers (well, I had to break them in!) and (as usual) glittered with Stickles. Again, her shoes and eyes were highlighted with Glossy Accents. The papers are from the Summertime Designs Energy kit, apart from the yellow paper which is from Pink Petticoat, which was then embossed with a Cuttlebug embossing folder. The card was finished off with Prima flowers and crystals.

So, I submitted these three cards to the Greetings Farm Summer Gardener DT call. The brief was to use yellow or orange in your cards. Unfortunately, I wasn't successful, but no harm in having a go I say! I'll have another go when the Autumn DT comes up. However, I did win three stamps from the Greetings Farm blog on their Friday giveaway, so my stamps should be winging their way to me now!
