Passion for ProMarkers Week 9

Wow, week 9 already! As a relative newcomer to ProMarkers I'm really enjoying taking part in these challenges, and following their tutorials, as it's really helped me with my shading and blending. It's also making me use colour combinations I might not have otherwise used. The challenge this week is to use Lime Green and Rose Pink.
My card today is for my friend's little girls 2nd birthday next month. She's a little cutie and this card will suit her perfectly!

Supplies used: Image - "HG Snuggle" stamp from The Greeting Farm, coloured with ProMarkers (Lime Green, Rose Pink, Blossom, Amethyst, Soft Lime, Ivory, Blush, Lemon, Pastel Yellow, Gold, Warm Grey 2 & 5, Cool Grey 4), eyes on soft toy Glossy Accented, Cotton Candy Stickles, Number 2 embellishment - Tim Holtz Grungeboard, Papers - Craftwork Cards, Flower - Flora Doodles, Ribbon from stash.

ICSketches # 26

Here is my card for the Inspirational Card Sketches Challenge blog.

This particular card is for a man's birthday so I dug out one of my trusty Penny Black animal stamps - not a scrap of glitter in sight!
Supplies used: Image - Penny Black "....to You", coloured with ProMarkers (Pastel Blue, Cornflower, Blossom, Rose Pink, Berry Red, Poppy, Raw Sienna, Cinnamon, Warm Grey 2, Yellow, Gold), the beaks have been Glossy Accented too, Papers - Sizzix Little Sizzles "Pastel".

Copic Candy

What stinky weather we had today! Although, saying that, it's now lovely and sunny. We've just got back from a nice meal with the in-laws, in an effort to get me out of the house (it's my due date!). We've also just walked the dog - I haven't gone out with them for ages but am hoping that the walking will help things along a little!

Here is another card made using one of the Pixie Chicks images. I'm using her to enter the blog candy here. More Pixie Chicks cards to follow...
Supplies used: Image - Pixie Chicks #2 from Charmed Cards and Crafts, coloured with ProMarkers (Meadow Green, Grass, Apple, Forest Green, Pine, Holly, Lemon, Canary, Gold, Pumpkin, Bright Orange, Ivory, Blush, Rose Pink, Pastel Blue, Sky Blue), Crystal Stickles, Glossy Accents, Glimmer Chalks, Papers - K&Co, Ribbons - Portafolia (scrapbook kit from Costco) & Fancy Pants Designs, Sentiment - Autumn Leaves Word Flourishes, Flower - Flora Doodles.

Cupcake Craft #48 and Papertake Weekly #19

A few cards to show today, although two are quite similar and very simple!
The first is for the Cupcake Craft Challenge 48, which is Blossoms & Butterflies. I have used a Pixie Chicks image, of which I have a few coloured and ready to make cards with, so expect to see a few over the next few posts!
Supplies used: Image - Pixie Chicks #1 from Charmed Cards and Crafts, coloured with ProMarkers (Blossom, Lilac, Lavender, Amethyst, Apple, Meadow Green, Yellow, Ivory, Blush, Rose Pink, Sky Blue, Cyan) and highlighted with Sakura Glaze pens and Glossy Accents, Fiskars border punch, Diamond Stickles, Papers - not sure, sorry!, Prima flowers, brads from stash.

The next cards were created using Sketch #19 from the Papertake Weekly Challenge. I'm attempting to make all of my cards for the next few months which is why these two are quite similar but the recipients know each other so I didn't want to make two identical cards!

Supplies used: Image - "Happily Ever After" from Pink Petticoat, coloured with Poppy Red ProMarker, glittered with Gold Stickles and Glossy Accented, Papers - Pink Petticoat, Flowers - Prima & Doodlebug, Fiskars border punch (which died to make this card!), Papermania Adhesive Stones, Ribbon from stash.

I managed to get to see Harry Potter on Wednesday without my waters breaking, which was a relief! The cinema was absolutely heaving though when we came out - the queue was out of the door! It was a good job we booked for an earlier showing. I thoroughly enjoyed it, one of the best yet, though I'm always disappointed by the fact that they can't fit everything in - shame we haven't had some extended versions like LOTR...

Anyway, I am now waiting patiently (not really) for baby to get a move on and arrive, in the meantime I will be filling my time with more crafting, in an effort to distract myself without having to stray too far from home!

ICS #25 and PfP #8

Morning! Two challenge cards to show you today (can you tell I've got time on my hands?!). The first is for Inspirational Card Sketches. They are on number 25 but this is my first attempt at one. I've kept it quite simple using mainly black and white as my original intention was to use this for a man's birthday. Now it's finished I'm not so sure whether it's "blokey" enough. As I've said before, I struggle with men's cards!
Supplies used: Image - Cupcakes by Pink Petticoat, coloured with ProMarkers and Glossy Accented, Papers - Doodlebug Paper Potpourri Beetle Black & Lily White, Sentiment - Craftwork Cards, Bracket - Tim Holtz Grungeboard, Crystals - Papermania.

My next card is for the Passion for ProMarkers Challenge Week 8. The challenge this week was to use the colours Ruby and Gold. I already had these images coloured but was waiting to see what the added twist would be - this week it is jewels and gems - perfect for me! This card will be going to a good friend of mine (who I also work with) who has been a complete rock throughout my whole pregnancy with lots of advice and cuddles when required. And even though she has a little girl of her own she made the time to fit in lots of visits to hospital when I was ill with hyperemesis. She actually introduced me and my hubby so is VERY excited about our forthcoming arrival!

Supplies used: Images - Woodware "Indian Dreams" Rubber Stamps, coloured with ProMarkers (Gold, Ruby, Maroon, Warm Grey 2 & 5, Cool Grey 4), Gold Stickles, Papers - Sandylion/Kelly Panacci "Swirled Fusion" & K&Co/Brenda Walton "Dollhouse Peach Paisley", Crafty Sentials Crackled Washi Paper, Magic Mesh, Ribbons - Papermania (the red/maroon one) & snaffled from a gift box (the gold one), Sentiment - Making Memories Mini Shimmer Alphas.

Nigella may have a rival for my affections...

I have long been a fan of Nigella Lawson, and her Domestic Goddess cookbook is like my bible which I automatically turn too whenever I fancy doing some baking (which is quite often as I have a BIG sweet tooth). Though I usually send some off with Tim, to take to work, to try and ease my conscience!
So, we went to Costco today and I spied this little beauty...

I liked the look of pretty much everything in it, so of course, it made it's way into the trolley and I made these little devils straight after tea! Hazelnut and Chocolate Cupcakes - though I made muffins, and didn't put any hazelnuts on top (bleurgh!). Under the frosting is a little dollop of Nutella - I highly recommend them, they are delicious! You'll have to excuse the rubbish photographs, I think my hands were shaking in anticipation of all that sugar!

I have a couple of cards to show but haven't taken pics yet. I may get round to it tomorrow but I have my last midwife trip before B-day and then I'm off to see Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince. Hopefully my waters won't break halfway through with excitement!

Passion for ProMarkers Challenge Week 7

I'm managing to be a bit more organised this week (and as mentioned in my previous post, officially a cricket widow as of 11am this morning!) so I have completed my card for Week 7 of the Passion for ProMarkers Challenge. The challenge this week was to use the colours Cornflower Blue and Cocoa and to use the sketch below.

Now, I don't normally use sketches, so this was a first for me, but I really enjoyed it! I particularly liked this colour combination too, so much so that I got a bit carried away and made two cards!
So, on to the first card...

Supplies used: Image - Sugar Nellie Gorjuss "A Little Birdie Told Me...", coloured with ProMarkers (Hair - Cinnamon, Cocoa, Burnt Umber; Skin - Ivory, Blush; Dress - Pastel Blue, Cornflower; Tights - Blossom, Rose Pink, Cinnamon, Cocoa), Baby Blue Stickles, Papers - Pink Petticoat, Adhesive Ribbon - DCWV "Preppy", Prima flowers, Sentiment - Craftwork Cards, Hot-fix Crystals.

The next card will be used for my friend's daughter's first birthday. I turned the sketch around a bit for this one.

Supplies used: Image - Magnolia Tilda "Flower Skipping Rope", Coloured with ProMarkers (Hair - Raw Sienna, Cinnamon; Skin - Ivory, Blush; Dress & Socks - Pastel Blue, Cool Aqua, Cornflower; Boots - Cinnamon, Cocoa; Flowers - Pastel Pink, Rose Pink, Apple, Grass, Metallic Gold), Diamond Stickles, Papers - Pink Petticoat, Adhesive Ribbon - DCWV "Preppy", Prima flowers, Flower centres - Card Candy from Craftwork Cards.

ProMarker Challenge Week 6

The challenge on the Passion for ProMarkers blog this week was to use the colours Moss Green and Poppy, with the added twist of using something tasty. I must admit I struggled with this one as I wasn't sure what to do with the colours. They felt quite Christmassy to me so in the end I thought, why not? So here's my first Christmas card of the year (true to form, the rest will probably be started at the end of November!)

Supplies used: Image - Magnolia Edwin Winter Sweater, coloured with ProMarkers (Moss Green, Raw Sienna, Poppy, Ruby, Maroon, Cocoa, Henna, Cinnamon, Ivory & Blush), Green Magic Mesh, Frosted Lace & Silver Stickles, Papermania "Forget-me-not" Snag 'em Stamp Duo, Papers - from my odds & sods box, Sweet embellishments - I think were originally buttons but can't remember where from!

Here's another card using an image I had coloured in for last weeks ProMarker challenge (but didn't use).

Supplies used: Image - HG Peace from The Greeting Farm, coloured with ProMarkers (Lemon, Meadow Green, Apple, Yellow, Ivory, Blush, Cinnamon, Cocoa & Henna), Papers - Pink Petticoat & Craftwork Cards, Lime Green & Yellow Stickles, Embellishments - Dovecraft Retro Floral, Flower brads and Anitas Adhesive Ribbon

Hopefully I'll get plenty of crafting in this week as I will be a cricket widow from Wednesday once the Ashes starts. Though Tim is convinced I'll go into labour on the first day of the first match!
